Head coach of Central Africa Republic (CAR), Raoul Savoy, says qualifying for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations alongside Ghana will be a 'nice' feeling.
The Black Stars will host CAR in the last group game of the qualifiers on Thursday, September 7, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, a fixture Savoy describes as a 'final.'
Ghana currently leads the way in Group E after taking nine points from a possible 15 while CAR sits third with seven points, two behind Ghana and one behind Angola, who are second.
CAR are already in Ghana ahead of Thursday's fixture and Savoy is hoping there will be celebrations for both teams at the end of the game.
"For me, it will be nice if we qualify alongside Ghana and we can celebrate at the end of the game. It is a question of mathematics; if we beat Ghana and Angola lose then it will be okay for us, if we beat Ghana and Angola draw it will be okay too," Savoy told Ghana Sports Page.
"As I said we respect all the teams. The game against Ghana is a final and in finals, you never know what exactly will happen. For us, we are going with full respect.
"We know that we are not favourites in this game, and all the people in the world are thinking that this will be easy for the Black Stars. But we are going to be more ready for this game and see what will happen."
Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton named his squad for the game over the weekend with the team missing Thomas Partey and Daniel Amartey while Elisha Owusu makes a return to the squad after recovering from injury.
