Ghana’s 5-Star Hotel, Labadi Beach Hotel, has expressed commitment to reclaim encroached lands in its catchment area.
In a response to the recent social media publications alleging land encroachment at Labadi Beach Hotel, Managing Director of Hotel Investment Ghana Limited, operators of Labadi Beach Hotel, David Eduaful, said decisive steps had already been taken to address the situation.
IMANI Africa's Bright Simons claimed that "political insiders" had encroached on the hotel's land, leaving only two acres at the beachfront.
The Vice President of IMANI also highlighted a temporary facility created for the Year of Return in 2019, alleging it had been turned into a permanent structure, blocking the view of hotel residents and causing disturbances with loud music every weekend.
However, in a reaction, Mr. Eduaful said “The attention of the management of Hotel Investment Ghana Limited (Labadi Beach Hotel) has been drawn to the recent social media publications alleging land encroachment."
"The hotel is committed to reclaiming encroached areas, firmly believing in the rightful ownership of its land”, he added.
He assured the public that Labadi Beach Hotel would always address challenges, emphasising, the hotel's commitment to reclaiming encroached areas and firmly believing in the rightful ownership of its land.
He also called for support, saying, Labadi Beach Hotel strives to uphold the legacy of Ghana's most prestigious 5-Star beach resort amidst these allegations and controversies.
