Host of Newsfile, Samson Lardy Anyenini used a visual presentation to demonstrate the devastating impact of illegal small-scale mining, commonly known as galamsey, on parts of Ghana.
Mr Anyenini opened Google Maps and zoomed into areas ravaged by galamsey, showcasing the loss of aquatic life and the destruction of forest reserves meant to protect the environment.
His presentation comes at a time when many Ghanaians are raising concerns about the government’s fight against illegal mining, which some have described as a failed effort.
