Former President John Dramani Mahama has commended an Evangelist Seth Quaye, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Smyrna Health and Wellness Group, for his generous donation of 150 acres of land, valued at $2 million, to support the Assemblies of God Ghana's centenary project.

Although not a member of the church, Quaye's contribution was recognized during a handover ceremony in Accra, where global church leaders gathered to receive the gift from the young evangelist.

The land, located in the Greater Accra region, will serve as the site for the church's centenary project and international convention centre. During the donation, Rev. Stephen Wengam, General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Ghana, assured the church's leadership that all necessary due diligence had been completed to verify the authenticity of the land.

"I'm glad to announce that a 150-acre land for the project was donated by a gentleman called Seth Quaye, who is not a member of the Assemblies of God. And to prove authenticity, he came with a former minister of Greater Accra Region, Hon. Afotey Agbo, who is related to him and a chief in that area, to hand over the document of the land to the executive presbytery."

He added, "The reason why I am confident is that there is a mountain on the land, a lake on the land, and the topography makes it easy to construct on the land."

Rev. Wengam also assured the global leadership of the church, "We have done a background check on him; he is correct. I will not go and collect something that will bring me embarrassment in the future. Ask him—it took us almost six months before we accepted the offer."

Former President Mahama, a dedicated member of the church, joined the global leadership in praising Quaye for his generosity.

"I want to add my voice to the General Superintendent's to commend and thank very sincerely Mr Seth Quaye and his partners for this generous donation that they have presented to us."

Evangelist Seth Quaye explained that the donation was motivated by his love for God.

"The reason and motivation for the seed is my divine encounter with Jesus. It's a sacrifice, like the story of Abraham accepting to sacrifice his only son, and also just as God Himself sacrificed His only begotten son. I am not giving out of abundance—I just threw something at God to encourage others to give and ease the burden on the least fortunate in the church."

Quaye was honoured with a plaque, and prayers were offered for him in gratitude for his dedication to the things of God.
