Ghanaian media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has commended the current government for putting the economy in shape since it assumed power about a year ago.
She made the remarks in an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z.
According to her, although it is still early days, the government is performing better than the previous administration did in the latter years of its tenure.
“I will give them 75% to 80% because I think that His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has stabilised the economy. And I think his Finance Minister is doing an excellent job. I think that the economy is doing very well now compared to the last three, four years,” she said.
The opinionated broadcaster also stated that many officials in the previous administration became arrogant.
“There was too much arrogance as well. You can listen from their utterances, on radio, the way they were so dismissive of journalists, their commentary was just arrogant,” she noted.
She indicated that although John Mahama had such arrogant elements during his first term in office, he appears to have learnt his lessons.
“It’s just a year. Maybe too early in the day but the trajectory looks positive, and I am happy with the work they are doing so far,” she said.
She therefore praised the Gender Minister, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, for her responsiveness to issues, and the Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, for being accessible.
In the meantime, Nana Aba Anamoah is preparing to hold the fourth edition of her event, Women of Valour, in London on March 6, 2026.
