The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salaam Mustapha, has criticised the National Democratic Congress (NDC)'s proposed 24-hour economy policy, branding it as impractical and lacking substance.
Speaking in an interview with Citi FM on Thursday, September 26, Mr Mustapha called the policy "senseless" and without any real foundation, dismissing it as nothing more than a "silly joke."
He argued that the NDC's proposal failed to provide a sensible explanation of how it would be implemented effectively.
The discussion, which focused on addressing youth unemployment, saw Mr Mustapha stress the need for more serious and practical solutions to tackle the growing unemployment crisis in the country.
He contended that the NDC's 24-hour economy proposal was not a viable answer to the urgent challenges faced by young people seeking jobs.
In his view, such policies were superficial and did little to address the core issues, urging instead for strategies that would bring about meaningful change in the employment landscape.
“Dealing with the unemployment problem is a serious issue that goes beyond joke and beyond patronising people."
“Let’s not patronise the young people in this country. It is a very serious matter…Let’s be more practical in how we solve the problems,” he stated.
