The Member of Parliament for Bekwai and First Deputy Speaker of the 8th Parliament, Joseph Osei Owusu, has been honoured by his alma mater, Juaben Senior High School, for his significant contributions to the institution.
During a ceremony organised by the school’s Old Students Association, a Wall of Fame was unveiled, along with a bust of the politician, popularly known as Joe Wise.

The event, spearheaded by the 1979 year group and led by Madam Sandra Forjouh, aimed to recognise the invaluable support Mr Osei Owusu (Class of 1981) has provided to his alma mater over the years.
Joe Wise as he is affectionately called has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to enhancing the school’s reputation and ensuring that both teachers and students receive the best possible support.
Among his notable contributions are the donation of 1,000 bags of cement for various building projects, significant financial backing for the rebuilding of the school’s dining hall, sole sponsorship of the school’s participation in the National Science and Maths Quiz, and the donation of 50 computers to the school’s computer lab.

The event was attended by distinguished personalities, including Obeng Takyi, MP for Manso Nkwanta, the Synod Secretary of the Methodist Church, who represented the Bishop of Effiduase, as well as school management led by Headmaster Kofi Ampofo-Nuako and former Headmistress Madam Josephine Opuni-Boakye.
