Stanbic Bank Ghana, in collaboration with Mechanical Lloyd Ghana, has donated a brand-new Massey Ferguson tractor to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in keeping with its support for the National Farmers’ Day celebration over the past 17 years.
The tractor will be presented as the second runner-up prize for at the 40th National Farmer’s Day celebrations in Accra.
Samuel Okang-Boye, the Head of Agri-Business at Stanbic Bank Ghana, who led the delegation from the bank during the donation, spoke on the importance of the agriculture sector to the country’s economy.
He said, “The Agric sector remains critical to the bank because of the pivotal role it plays in ensuring food security, nourishing families, and serving as the base for a number of industries. Africa is our home; and we drive her growth by supporting the sectors that are critical growth drivers. Agriculture is one such critical sector. It is also one of the major pillars of our responsibility to the society.”
The theme for this year’s celebration, ‘Building climate-resilient agriculture for sustainable food security’,’ emphasises the need to adapt responsible and sustainable agricultural practices.

Receiving the tractor, the acting Chief Director, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Paul Siameh, thanked Stanbic Bank for their consistency and commitment in supporting the National Farmer’s Day celebrations over the years and agriculture in general.
Stanbic Bank Ghana, through its agricultural proposition, has been working to improve the agriculture sector across selected agribusiness value chains over the years.
With a deep understanding of the agribusiness value chain, the bank’s knowledge-based approach is aided by the deployment of smart digital solutions to scale up the sector.
