Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu continued his impressive form in front of goal, scoring a crucial equaliser for AS Monaco in their Coupe de France clash against Stade de Reims.
The goal, assisted by Danish striker Mark Biereth, marked Salisu's second consecutive match with a goal, following his strike against Nantes. Salisu's strike in the 70th minute cancelled out Cedric Kipre's first-half goal, sending the match into a tense finale.
Despite Breel Embolo's missed chances in the 72nd and 94th minutes, the match ended 1-1 after regular time. The tiebreaker penalty shootout proved heartbreaking for Monaco, as Reims converted three of their spot-kicks while Monaco managed just one.
Salisu's defensive skills were on full display throughout the game, but ultimately, it wasn't enough to secure a win for Monaco.
