The former chief of Akrafo Kokobeng, a community in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of Ashanti region has been shot dead in front of his house by an unknown assailant.
According to eyewitness accounts, Nana Okofrobuo Boateng stepped out to buy food only to be shot while entering his house around 11:00 pm on Wednesday, January 15.

Family members of the deceased suspect he might have been killed by persons who hated him for no apparent reason.
Residents of Akrafo Kokobeng say the incident raises security concerns and called for increased policing of the area.

The police at the Bohyen District Command have conducted preliminary investigations at the crime scene, while the deceased’s body has been deposited at a morgue.
