The Agotime Traditional Council has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA), and the Agotime Ziope District Assembly to seal a deal of entrusting operations of an obsolete water system station into the care of the Agency.
This is targeted at ending the perennial water crisis residents in the traditional area grapple with.
Tordze which streams through the Agotime Ziope District capital of Kpetoe has been the source of water for residents.

In the early 1950s, a water supply station was constructed to treat water from the stream to serve residents in the catchment area.
However, the facility is unable to serve its purpose as the machinery has become obsolete, coupled with an ineffective management.

A water vendor in the community explained that the colour of the water remained red because there wasn't sufficient chemical to treat it.
“They say there is no chemical to treat the water for us”, she lamented.

A Representative of the Agotime Traditional Area on the CWSA Transition Team, Prince Michael Dzorkpe said that it was imperative to take the initiative of handing over management of the water station since water is an essential commodity for the survival of the residents.
He entreated community members to be patient while the Agency takes steps to resolve the water challenge, by putting the facility into good shape.

The President of the Agotime Traditional Council, Nene Nuer Keteku IV was enthused about the initiative and indicated the perennial lack of access to potable water would eventually come to an end.
He appealed to community members to pay their bills when the system begins to fully function to enable the Agency to have enough funds to undertake periodic maintenance and ensure a continued supply of water.
Nene Nuer Keteku expressed the hope that the District Water Project in Adidome will extend supply to his area to complement that of the Kpetoe Water System Station.
