The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has announced the successful disbursement of outstanding teacher trainee allowances for the 2023/2024 academic year.
According to the SLTF, a total of 65,685 students from 46 public Colleges of Education across the country have received their arrears, which covered three months.
In a statement issued by the CEO of the Fund, Dr Saadija Shiraz, on Thursday, 10th April, the Fund said the payment aligns with its mission to support tertiary education students and forms part of the government’s broader agenda to improve education.
“The payment is in consonance with the fund’s mandate to facilitate access to financing support for tertiary education students in Ghana.”
It added that the move was also in line with the government’s reset agenda, which includes deliberate efforts to strengthen support systems within the education sector and ensure smooth academic progress.
The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) further assured students and the general public of its commitment to improving its operations.
“The SLTF remains steadfast in our commitment to ensuring timely, transparent, and efficient financial support services delivery for the benefit of students,” it noted.
