Trotro mate, Prince Akwasi Baidoo, who went viral for displaying a humble character while performing his duties, is seeking support to enroll in a professional driving school.
He said it has always been his dream to become a trailer driver, as he was unable to further his education after completing junior high school.
As the breadwinner of his family, he had to quit school and acquire a vocational skill to make ends meet, support his younger sibling, and help his parents.
“I want to drive a trailer. My family background is not financially strong and being a man, I have to find something to do because my mum has always been into farming. Since I could complete JHS, I want to venture into driving to support them,” he said in Twi on Joy Prime’s Changes show with Roselyn Felli.
Prince went viral after a video was posted by Mr. Monney, a road safety expert, showing him boarding his car from Pokuase to Medie.
This caught the attention of social media users, who praised Prince for displaying such positive traits, especially given the common perception that most trotro mates are disrespectful due to negative experiences with them.
Below is Prince’s request during his interview on Joy Prime:
