Ghanaian entrepreneur and built environment professional, Mr. Eric Eduam, has been honoured with the prestigious Forty Under 40 Global Award in the category of Project Management during a grand ceremony held in Dubai.
The award celebrates young business leaders and professionals across the globe who are making significant impact in their respective industries. Mr. Eduam’s recognition highlights his outstanding contributions to construction and project management in Ghana and beyond.
Reacting to the news, Mr. Eduam described the moment as both humbling and fulfilling.
“It was a humbling and surreal moment. I’ve always been driven by the desire to make meaningful contribution in my field of work, which has been a journey I have pursued with passion, so hearing my name called among such global trailblazers and changemakers was a fulfilling one. It struck me that indeed consistency pays! But most importantly, I felt that the hard work of my team and the relevance of our contribution to Ghana's and Africa's built environment was being recognized,” he said.
Expressing appreciation to the organisers and his supporters, he added:
“I am excited to be named as a Forty Under 40 Global awardee in Project Management. I extend my gratitude to the organisers for this recognition. To everyone who voted and supported in diverse ways, thank you for believing in me. To my incredible team, this award is a testament to our dedication and diligence.”
Mr. Eduam, who is the Founder and Group CEO of WEL Group, oversees multiple subsidiaries operating in construction, project management consultancy, hospitality, and agribusiness. With over 12 years of industry experience, he is known for his strategic leadership, problem-solving capabilities, and commitment to excellence.
“Starting and scaling businesses in Ghana’s construction and services industry hasn’t been easy. It is fraught with difficulties. Having endured this rough terrain and being recognized globally, particularly in project management, feels like validation of every sleepless night, every difficult decision, and every risk I’ve taken. It reminds me that excellence can be homegrown as well,” he reflected.
Mr. Eduam is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) at the University of Northampton, with a research focus on sustainable leadership in real estate. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (MGhIS), and the Ghana Institute of Construction (MGIOC).
This international recognition adds to his growing list of accolades, including the Ghana Industry CEO Awards and the Forty Under 40 Ghana Awards. His achievement also signals Ghana’s expanding influence on the global stage in innovation, infrastructure, and project delivery.
