Ghana’s First Lady, Lordina Mahama, marked this year’s Mother’s Day with a heartfelt visit to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, where she spent time with new and expectant mothers.
The occasion, she noted, was particularly special as it brought back cherished memories of her own motherhood journey.

Addressing the mothers, Mrs. Mahama encouraged those in labour to remain strong and focus on the joy that follows delivery. She emphasised that motherhood goes beyond childbirth — highlighting the love, sleepless nights, and resilience that define the experience.

As part of the celebration, the First Lady presented gift packages to the mothers and generously covered the medical bills for all babies born on the day.

Mrs. Mahama also interacted with healthcare workers, acknowledging both the challenges and blessings of motherhood.

“Motherhood is indeed a beautiful experience,” she said, extending warm wishes to all who play a motherly role in society.
