Dansoman Cluster of Schools has exacted sweet revenge on their fiercest rivals, Theorose School, knocking out the reigning champions to book a place in the semifinals of the 2025 Inter-School Reading Quiz (ISRQ).
The clash, which served as the first quarterfinal contest of this year’s championship, ended in a dramatic win for the Dansoman Cluster B Schools, who scored 64 points to edge past Theorose School’s 56.5 points.

Heading into the contest, the stakes were sky-high. This was a rematch of the 2024 quarterfinal, where Theorose School triumphed over Dansoman Cluster and went on to win the overall competition. For Dansoman, this was not just another quiz - it was a shot at redemption.
The team, made up of Reginald Lamptey, Lawrence Andoh, and Nancy Avortrie, came with a clear strategy and sharp focus, determined to leave nothing to chance.
The contest was fiercely competitive from the start.
- Round 1 ended in a draw: 24–24.
- In Round 2, Dansoman began to edge ahead, scoring 25 points to Theorose’s 21.
- In the final round, Dansoman Cluster B Schools sealed their lead, finishing strong with a total of 64 points, while Theorose School could only manage 56.5.
With this win, Dansoman Cluster becomes the first school to qualify for the semifinals of the ISRQ2025, and in doing so, they’ve shattered the defending champions’ hopes of a repeat victory.
Their triumph marks not just a personal victory over past heartbreak, but also a powerful statement for public schools competing in a field often dominated by elite institutions.
The ISRQ2025 continues with more quarterfinal battles as schools across the country vie for a spot in the grand finale.
