The first edition of the Johnnie Walker Annual Ghana Golf Championship teed off in grand fashion at the Achimota Golf Club in Accra from 30–31 May 2025, blending world-class sport with luxury lifestyle in a bold new chapter for golf in Ghana.
Hosted by Johnnie Walker Blue Label, the two-day championship brought together 120 golfers from 10 countries, alongside industry leaders, tastemakers, and brand partners.
With both men and women competing across top-tier categories, the event showcased the growing inclusivity and international appeal of the sport in West Africa.
More than just a competition, the event delivered an immersive experience, featuring bespoke Johnnie Walker Blue Label tastings, curated culinary sessions, and immersive brand storytelling that fused tradition with innovation.
Day one began with a symbolic official tee-off, setting the tone for a weekend of high-calibre golf. The evening concluded with a dinner reception and the Mirror Ball Experience - a signature celebration of luxury, music, and connection.

The second day offered another competitive round on the fairways, accompanied by live music from Ghana’s Honey Groove Band, and concluded with a grand awards ceremony honouring standout performers across a range of categories.
The tournament marked more than a milestone for Johnnie Walker; it also coincided with Guinness Ghana’s 65th anniversary, symbolising a legacy of excellence and bold character that continues to shape premium experiences in Ghana and beyond.
Marketing and Innovations Director of Guinness, Estella Muzito said: "It is a big success for us because we are interacting with our consumers.
"People are enjoying a lot of Johnnie Walker [golf competition]. They are enjoying the game on the green and they are saying 'we want more of these'."
By marrying sport with lifestyle, the Johnnie Walker Annual Ghana Golf Championship positions itself as a defining fixture on the country’s sporting calendar.
