Lawyer for Thomas Partey, Jenny Wiltshire, says the former Arsenal midfielder has not shied away from helping the police during the investigations into the charges levelled against him.
Partey has been charged with five counts of rape by the London Metropolitan Police and has also been charged with one count of sexual assault.
The incidents are alleged to have taken place between 2021 and 2022.
Following the official charges against the Ghana international, his lawyer says the player has always been available and provided information when called upon.
"Thomas has fully cooperated with the police throughout their three-year investigation," Wiltshire said in a statement.
"He now welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name. Given that there are now ongoing legal proceedings, my client is unable to comment further."
Partey is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 5 August.
