Ghana's Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Adams, has lauded the Black Queens for their "courageous" performance against Morocco in the semi-finals of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations.
The Queens held Morocco to penalties after Stella Nyamekye had put them ahead, before Sakina Ouzraoui levelled the score for the North Africans.
However, Comfort Yeboah and Evelyn Badu missed their spot-kicks as Ghana lost 4-2 to the host nation.
"I commend the Black Queens for their courageous performance in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations semifinal," Minister Adams said in a statement.
"Taking the hosts through 120 minutes of spirited football and contesting the result on penalties reflects both your determination and your commitment to the national cause."
"You have earned our respect. Now, let us finish on a high note."
Up next for the Black Queens is a third place playoff clash with defending champions South Africa on July 25 while the final between Nigeria and Morocco comes off a day after.
