A book of condolence has been officially opened at the Manhyia Palace, allowing dignitaries, traditional leaders, and members of the public to pay their heartfelt respects to the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
Visitors to the palace have begun signing the book in honour of her memory and enduring legacy.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who passed away on 7th August 2025 at the age of 98, was formally honoured and eulogised during an emergency meeting of the Asanteman Traditional Council, convened by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on 11th August 2025.

The upcoming one-week commemoration for the Asantehemaa is set to take place at Bogyawe, within the Manhyia Palace grounds, on Thursday, 21st August 2025, from 12 noon to 6 p.m.

In recognition of the solemnity of the occasion, Manhyia Palace has placed a ban on all funerals across Asanteman on the day of the one-week observance, to ensure a respectful and uninterrupted commemoration.

To facilitate the ceremonies, temporary road closures have been put in place around Manhyia Palace. Traffic diversion and parking arrangements have been established, with shuttle services for the public and designated zones for chiefs, dignitaries, and government officials.

The book of condolence symbolises a profound moment of collective mourning. Mourners from various corners of the Ashanti Region and beyond have begun visiting Manhyia Palace to sign and express their sympathies.
