Mrs Comfort Kumi, the widow of the late Akwatia Member of Parliament, Ernest Yaw Kumi, was seen moving through the Akyem Wenchi area after casting her vote, encouraging residents to back the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate, Solomon Kwame Asumadu.
In videos circulating on social media, Mrs Kumi was observed engaging with voters, urging them to turn out and support Mr Asumadu in today’s by‑election.

The gesture has drawn attention as Mrs Kumi emerges publicly at a key moment in the campaign following her husband’s unfortunate passing.

Solomon Kwame Asumadu, a licensed small‑scale miner also known as “Owusu,” is the NPP’s endorsed candidate for the Akwatia by‑election, which follows the death of Ernest Kumi in July 2025.
