At least six houses have been destroyed by fire at Lartebiokorshie in Accra after flames spread from a Chinese warehouse in the area.
The blaze, which started around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, quickly engulfed the warehouse before spreading to nearby houses.
Speaking to JoyNews, residents said that personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived two hours later, around 4 p.m., which led to five more houses being consumed.
They expressed frustration at what they described as the slow and ill-prepared response of the fire service.
“The fire is almost at my house,” one resident said.
