Artist manager Dennis Ofosu has highlighted the urgent need for stronger artiste development structures to help Ghanaian musicians thrive in an increasingly competitive global music landscape.
He noted that many artists still lack the basic industry skills and knowledge required for success.
“There’s a real need for training and capacity-building programmes that can empower artists with the tools required to thrive,” he said.
Despite these challenges, Ofosu expressed optimism about the future of Ghanaian music. “The talent here is incredible. With proper support systems and the right structures, Ghanaian artists can stand tall among the best globally,” he stated.
He also urged industry stakeholders to work together to overcome these barriers. “Collaboration is key. We need to work together and support one another if we want to create a music industry that benefits us all,” he added.
Ofosu’s comments underscore both the struggles and opportunities within Ghana’s music sector. As the industry continues to evolve, addressing structural gaps and investing in artist development will be crucial to positioning Ghanaian music on the global stage.
