The remains of 12-year-old David, who was swept away by the Okrudu River at Kasoa following a heavy downpour earlier this week, have been found.
Adom News earlier reported that the boy was carried away by floodwaters at Kasoa American Town in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
After an intensive four-day search, his body was recovered at Fijai in the Gomoa East District.
According to eyewitnesses, David was on his way to pick up his siblings from school when the incident occurred. His slippers reportedly fell into a gutter, and in an attempt to retrieve them, he followed them toward the Okrudu River. Tragically, the strong currents swept him away.

The Assembly Member for the Kasoa American Town Electoral Area, Shadrach Boakye Yiadom, confirmed the recovery of the body and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
He also urged residents to be cautious during heavy rains and avoid flooded areas to prevent similar tragedies.
