The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), led by its Chief Executive Officer, Simon Madjie, joined a Ghanaian trade and investment delegation at the inaugural International Forum “Invest in Burkina Faso” (FIIBF) in Ouagadougou.
The delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Sampson Ahi.
The forum, themed “Structuring Investment for a Sovereign Burkina Faso,” brought together government officials, private sector representatives, and international partners from 44 countries to discuss investment opportunities, promote trade, and advance regional economic integration.
Deputy Minister Ahi described the forum as a significant platform for Ghanaian businesses to pursue partnerships in agribusiness, mining, and manufacturing.

He stressed that Ghana’s participation demonstrated its commitment to regional cooperation and private sector-led growth.
He further highlighted Ghana’s strategic role as a transit hub for landlocked neighbours such as Burkina Faso, which relies on Ghana’s ports for international trade. "Ghanaian businesses continue to prioritise cross-border trade in key agricultural products, including tomatoes, yams, and other commodities sourced from Burkina Faso".
The FIIBF featured sectoral discussions, exhibitions, and engagements with the President of Burkina Faso, aimed at showcasing investment potential and fostering sustainable development.
Other members of the Ghanaian delegation included Dr Andy Osei Okrah, Chief Executive Officer of the Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA); Musah Sibiri Hamidu, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA); and Ambrose Edwin Nsarkoh, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA).
The forum provided an opportunity for Ghanaian businesses and government officials to strengthen economic ties and explore mutually beneficial investment prospects.
