Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren is among the shortlisted names for the Women’s Coach of the Year category at the 2025 CAF Awards.
Bjorkegren led Ghana to bronze medal at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament in Morocco earlier this year.
The Swedish trainer is among 10 names announced by the Confederation of African Football ahead of this year’s ceremony.
Bjorkegren replaced Nora Hauptle earlier this year following the departure of the Swiss gaffer at the end of her contract.
Among others shortlisted for the category are Côte d’Ivoire head coach Adelaide Koudougnon, ASEC Mimosas’ Siaka Gigi Traore, Lamia Boumehdi of TP Mazembe, Genoveva Anonman of 15 De Agosto, Morocco’s Jorge Vilda, Bankole Olowookere, Justin Madugu, Desiree Ellis and Carol Kanyemba.
For now, Bjorkegren will be focusing on helping the Black Queens secure qualification to the 2026 WAFCON when they play Egypt in the final hurdle.
