Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Anyaa Fire Station have successfully brought under control a fierce commercial fire outbreak that erupted in the early hours of Tuesday, October 28 at Tabora Number 4, a suburb of Accra.
According to details shared by the GNFS on its official Facebook page, the distress call was received at 0156 hours, prompting the immediate dispatch of a crew to the scene.
Upon arrival, the firefighters were confronted with a fully developed blaze involving a wooden structure, three metal containers, and two self-contained bedrooms.

According to the GNFS, despite the intensity of the flames, the fire crew acted with commendable speed and professionalism.
Through coordinated firefighting tactics, they managed to bring the fire under control and eventually extinguish it completely, preventing the inferno from spreading to adjoining properties.

The incident, however, caused extensive destruction, consuming one wooden structure, three metal containers and their contents, along with a two-bedroom self-contained house and its personal belongings.
A nearby Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) pole and its cables were also partially burnt.
The GNFS confirmed that no casualties or injuries were recorded. The swift intervention of the Anyaa Fire Station team also saved one metal container and an adjoining house, averting what could have been a far more catastrophic loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though officials are working to determine whether it may have been triggered by an electrical fault or other sources of ignition commonly associated with commercial premises.
The GNFS has also reiterated the importance of installing fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and circuit breakers in residential and commercial properties, as these can significantly reduce fire risks and losses.
