Popular Nigerian singer, Aituaje Iruobe, known as Waje, has spoken candidly about her preferences when it comes to the choice of a life partner.
Featuring in a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, the 45-year-old declared that she can’t date or marry a man who is struggling financially.
The mother of one explained that she is no longer in her 20s and doesn’t have the time and patience to “build” with a man.
“I can’t marry someone who is not successful, and here’s why: first of all, I’m not in my 20s so we are not growing together,” she said.
“A man leads; he leads by selling aspirations to me. I have to aspire to see him lead. And if he can’t inspire me to grow, we can’t be partners. So, success is part of it. Faith and emotional intelligence are also part of it.”
Waje also revealed that she can’t date a younger man.
“We will have issues. I’m very pragmatic. I sometimes I have to hold myself with my siblings, my friends, and my family members. Imagine if it was a husband? He would get tired. I will be treating him like my child. He would hate me,” she said.
