The newborn baby who went missing from Agogo Presbyterian Hospital in the Ashanti Region has been found safe and in good health.
According to the mother, Felicia Obenewaa, she was contacted by the police after a woman brought the missing baby to the station. The woman reportedly told officers that an unknown individual had handed her the baby for temporary care but never returned to retrieve the child.
Sources indicate that Mrs. Obenewaa had visited the hospital for a postnatal review when the incident occurred. While at the facility, she was approached by a young woman who engaged her in conversation and offered assistance.
Mrs. Obenewaa is said to have briefly left her baby in the woman’s care to use the washroom, only to return and find both the stranger and her baby missing.
Hospital authorities later confirmed that CCTV footage captured the suspect leaving the premises with the baby.
Police investigations are ongoing to identify the suspect and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
