Two people have been confirmed dead, with another in critical condition, following violent clashes at Mpasaaso Number 2 in the Ahafo Ano Southwest District of the Ashanti Region.
A youth leader in the community, Kojo Asare, confirmed the incident in an interview on Kumasi-based Akoma FM.
“We received a distress call from some neighbours who discovered the lifeless bodies, and upon getting to the scene, I saw two dead bodies with gun wounds and one other battling for his life,” he narrated.
One of the deceased, identified as Borga, was reportedly a leader of a group involved in violent activities.
Mr Asare explained that Borga appeared to have been shot by attackers, noting visible gunshot wounds to the head.
“The deceased himself was holding a gun at the scene, but he was also butchered, with his wrists cut off,” he added.
Meanwhile, the police have launched investigations into the cause of the clashes to determine the next line of action.
