A total of 214,812 delegates are expected to take part in the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer election scheduled for 30th January 2026.
The Chairman of the party’s Presidential Elections Committee, Joe Osei Owusu, disclosed this on Thursday, December 17, during a meeting with the leadership of the Ghana Police Service and other security commanders in Accra, as part of preparations to secure the conduct of the internal election.
He noted that the exercise will be conducted across all 16 regions at 277 voting centres, comprising one centre in each region and two centres in Accra.
He explained that the total number of polling stations has increased to 332 after voting centres with more than 1,000 delegates were split into two, each serving 500 voters, to ensure an orderly and efficient process.
The NPP is expected to elect its flagbearer ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The candidates are former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former Education Minister, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, Bryan Acheampong and Engineer Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.
