Othniel Papa Koranteng Tetteh of RisingSun Montessori School has emerged as the overall winner of the 2025 National Junior Speller Competition (Basic 1-4 category) after a highly competitive national contest involving over 100 spellers from all 16 regions of Ghana.
The grand finale showcased remarkable talent, confidence and linguistic excellence as young spellers advanced through rigorous rounds to secure a place among the Top 20 finalists nationwide. Othniel distinguished himself with exceptional composure, accuracy and consistency, ultimately earning the national title.

Prizes and Awards - Basic 1–4
In recognition of their outstanding performances, winners in the Basic 1–4 category received the following awards:
- Winner (1st Place):
A cash prize of GHC10,000, a tablet from Homii Mobile, a trophy, a medal, and a framed citation. - Second Place:
A cash prize of GHC5,000, a tablet from Homii Mobile, a medal, and a citation. - Third Place:
A cash prize of GHC3,000, a tablet from Homii Mobile, a medal, and a citation. - Fourth to Twentieth Positions:
Medals and tablets from Homii Mobile in recognition of their remarkable achievement as national finalists. - All participants received citations and Advanced Oxford Dictionary.
