The head coach of Aduana F.C., Cioarba Aristica, has said the club cannot compete for the league title unless it signs five new players in the transfer window.
Aristica made the extraordinary outburst after Aduana's 2-2 draw with Young Apostles at Wenchi.
"You know I have injuries. One central defender, our captain Alex Boakye, is injured, and the quality that replaces him is not the same. The same is happening in our midfield, where Seidu Saana was suspended and is also injured.
"The striker, (Emmanuel) Marfo, who is our top scorer with six goals and is very important to us."
Although Aduana came from behind to draw the match 2-2, Aristica said the current squad is not good enough to fight for the title.
"I gave one clear message to our management before this game. I told them that I needed some positions filled because if we go with this squad, I will not have a chance of winning the league title."
"I tell the truth, and if the management listens and brings the five players for the positions that I need, it is possible to fight for the top (spot). If they do not listen to me, I will not have the team to go and fight for the league title," he concluded.
Aduana have won just once in their last 5 league matches, drawn three times and lost once.
They have dropped to third place on the league table with 29 points, behind Medeama and Asante Kotoko, who are both on 30 points.
