The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno has announced the promotion of 30 police officers to their next ranks on Monday, January 5.
According to a post shared on Facebook by the Service, this recognition comes in acknowledgment of their outstanding conduct and professionalism during two critical operations in the Ashanti Region during the Christmas season.
These operations were instrumental in the recovery of 2,600 rounds of AK-47 ammunition at the Kantanso Asankare Police Barrier and the disruption of a dangerous robbery syndicate operating along the Antoakrom-Manso Nkwanta stretch.

Promotions Recognise Excellence and Professionalism
The thirty officers, promoted in recognition of their courage and commitment to duty, were involved in high-stakes operations that prevented significant harm and protected the public.
The promotions are a direct acknowledgment of the officers' vigilance, bravery, and their crucial role in safeguarding Ghana's citizens during a time when criminal activities often spike.

The officers promoted in connection with the Kantanso Asankare operation include:
- C/Inspr Tibim Acheampong Solomon
- Inspr Sarfo Adu Daniel
- No. 58311 G/L Cpl Saeed Frimpong
- No. 621467 G/Const Sremsei Simon
- No. 15413 PW/Const Kissi Dorcas Serwaah
- No. 65450 G/Const Arthur Emmanuel Nkrumah
- No. 65457 G/Const Dennis Danquah
- No. 65503 G/Const Philip Lawer Nyarko
- No. 66427 G/Const Owusu Kenneth
- No. 66841 G/Const Christian Buaben Kwadzo Addo
These officers were involved in a critical operation at the Kantanso Asankare Police Barrier, where they discovered a concealed stash of dangerous firearms and ammunition.

After conducting a thorough search of a bus passing through the barrier, the officers uncovered two containers containing 2,600 rounds of AK-47 ammunition.
Additionally, a bag hidden under the driver’s seat revealed vital equipment, including two bulletproof plates, a black crushed helmet, and a pair of long boots.

Their swift action and meticulous attention to detail prevented these weapons and materials from falling into criminal hands.
Intelligence-Led Operations at Manso Nkwanta and Antoakrom
In addition to the Kantanso Asankare operation, twenty other officers from the Intelligence Department of the Ashanti and Ashanti South Regional Police Commands were also promoted.

These officers played a vital role in intelligence-led operations across Manso Nkwanta, Antoakrom, and surrounding areas, which resulted in further recoveries of firearms and ammunition, the disruption of an armed robbery syndicate, and the prevention of planned attacks on commuters during the festive season.
These operations were especially significant as they safeguarded thousands of travelers who were at risk of being targeted by violent criminal groups during the busy holiday period.

Commendations and Encouragement from the IGP
During the promotion ceremony, IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, alongside members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), commended the officers for their professionalism, courage, and alertness.
Their actions, the IGP noted, were not only a demonstration of excellent policing but also a reflection of the Ghana Police Service's ongoing commitment to ensuring public safety.

The IGP also took the opportunity to encourage the wider police service to continue upholding the highest standards of professionalism and dedication to duty.

He reiterated that the Police Administration will continue to recognise and reward hard work and excellence within the force.

A Commitment to Excellence and Accountability
The Ghana Police Service continues to demonstrate its commitment to professionalism, transparency, and accountability in its operations.
