Asante Kotoko Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, says the club will not rush into making decisions about the coach or the technical team due to fans’ unrest.

Karim Zito's men have failed to win a game since the start of year and there is a growing frustration among the fans.

After a defeat to Swedru All Stars and a goalless draw at home to Berekum Chelsea over the weekend, Kotoko are six points off the top of the league.

“When the expectation of our supporters is not being met, obviously, the focus will be on sacking the coach making changes in the technical team, but I can assure you that you will not rush into taking any such decision, ie taking the coach or making changes in the technical team,” he told Luv FM.

“We believe that over the years, that has been the trend. And the question is, has that been helpful to the staff? No, so we will not rush into doing that. What we are doing is to do a proper and fair assessment of the situation,” he added.

Duku also revealed that the management is conducting a thorough and fair assessment of the situation, involving all parties, including players, technical team members, and the medical team.

“We are engaging all the parties involved, including the players, the other technical team members, the medical team, to find out what the problems actually are before we can come to any conclusion.

“Otherwise, we'll sack the coach and then we'll go back to square one, restart all over again, and that has been the trend. So I think that this time round, we will not rush into making such a decision,” he said.

He urged patience from fans and emphasized the need for consistency. The decision to be made will be in the best interest of the club, aiming to break from the past pattern of frequent coaching changes.

“I will plead with them to exercise patience. We need some consistency for once. The technical team we brought have not spend up to one year. I don't think that in football to achieve results, you don't have to give them enough time.

“I've talked about are conducted, and then it becomes obvious that this is where the problem is coming from, then we wouldn't hesitate take a decision that would be in the best interest of the club. But for now, I think that the usual stacking of coaches here and there, when they are not good results should be a thing of the past,” he said.

Kotoko will next travel to Bibiani to take on GoldStars on Saturday.
