Ghanaian actress and TV Show Host, Nana Ama McBrown, has called on the management of Asante Kotoko SC to involve prominent personalities in the Ashanti Region in the club’s activities and fan mobilisation efforts.
McBrown, a well-known supporter of the Kumasi-based club, believes that Asante Kotoko can greatly benefit from the involvement of influential personalities across the Ashanti Region if the club’s management takes the initiative to engage them directly.
According to McBrown, despite her role as brand ambassador of Hisense Ghana, a partner of Asante Kotoko, the partnership has not involved the brand as much as she believes it could.
Speaking on Luv Fm’s DriveTime show, she stressed that her willingness to contribute to the club goes beyond her role as a brand ambassador, but said any meaningful engagement must come directly from the club’s management.
“As a brand ambassador for Hisense Ghana, we already support Kotoko, but they haven’t involved us a lot. They already know I’m a supporter of Asante Kotoko.
"Individually, I think that the management has not involved us a lot. If an individual of the team calls me, I won’t take it seriously, but if the management is calling me, I will be here and I will be ready to do something for the club.”
McBrown believes Asante Kotoko should adopt abroader approach by bringing together prominent personalities and influential figures within the Ashanti Region to help promote and mobilise support for the club. She urged the management to create a platform that allows personalities in the region to contribute their influence toward the growth of the club.
“So I am telling the management they should find a way to involve all personalities in the Ashanti Region, just as other clubs in their regions will do.”
For McBrown, the relationship between Asante Kotoko and the people of Kumasi and the wider Ashanti Region is deeply rooted in identity and belonging.
She emphasised that the the club represents ther egion and therefore deserves collective support from its people.
“I believe that Kumasi is us, Kotoko is for us and Kotoko is for us to serve, so we are waiting for that call.”
Her comments come at a time when clubs are desperately in need of publicity to mobilise supporters ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League which starts on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
