PKO Boxing and the PKO Foundation have announced the appointment of two-time world champion Marvellous Nana Yaw Konadu as their new President, with immediate effect.
The organisation said the decision was taken more than a week ago but formally confirmed after the completion of due diligence and compliance processes.
Mr Konadu underwent a comprehensive assessment and received unanimous approval from the Board of Directors and all relevant stakeholders.
He is widely regarded as one of Ghana’s most accomplished professional boxers.

Born in Sunyani in 1964, he compiled an impressive professional record of 41 wins, five losses and one draw, with 32 victories coming by knockout.
He won world titles in two weight divisions, capturing the WBC super flyweight title in 1989 before going on to secure the WBA bantamweight title twice in the mid-1990s.
His success on the global stage played a significant role in enhancing Ghana’s reputation in international boxing and cemented his place among the country’s most respected fighters.
In announcing his appointment, PKO cited Konadu’s personal values and leadership qualities as central to the decision.
“Nana Yaw Konadu represents humility, hard work, transparency and trustworthiness,” the organisation said.
“His leadership offers hope to fellow boxers and aligns with PKO’s mission to protect athletes, promote integrity and develop future world champions.”
PKO reiterated that the welfare and development of boxers remain at the core of its operations.
The organisation also expressed appreciation to former interim Honorary President Joseph Agbeko, who stepped aside following the transition.
“We thank Joseph Agbeko for his contribution during the interim period while the company was being structured and formally established,” PKO added.

In a related appointment, PKO announced Mrs Princess Sandelle Dankwa as its new Public Relations and Marketing Manager. Her appointment was also unanimously approved after a comprehensive review.
Dankwa brings experience in communications, marketing and stakeholder engagement, and is expected to strengthen PKO’s brand visibility and public engagement efforts.
