The Member of Parliament for Obuasi West, Kwaku Kwarteng, has expressed strong confidence in the presidential ambitions of New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Agyapong, saying he has what it takes to win the party’s contest and lead Ghana as President.
Mr Kwarteng said Mr Agyapong stands out among his peers because of his determination and readiness to confront long-standing national challenges.
According to him, Kennedy Agyapong represents a break from conventional politics and possesses the disruptive energy needed to challenge entrenched systems that have hindered the country’s progress.
“Kennedy Agyapong is a different kind of politician. He is one of the few across the political divide who can disrupt the status quo that has held this country back. That quality makes him stand out, and he also has the sense of urgency needed to address the wrongs that have persisted for far too long,” Mr Kwarteng said in a Channel One TV interview.
The New Patriotic Party is expected to elect its presidential candidate on January 31, 2026.
The contest is expected to feature Kennedy Agyapong, former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum and Dr Bryan Acheampong.
