Former Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Dr Mark Assibey-Yeboah, has expressed concern about the performance of businessman and presidential hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, in the New Patriotic Party’s ongoing presidential race.
Speaking on JoyNews, Dr Assibey-Yeboah, who previously supported Mr Agyapong’s bid to lead the NPP into the 2028 general election, said early indications suggest the aspirant is underperforming compared to his showing in the last internal contest.
“From the figures we are seeing he is not doing well. In the last election, he had some 36% but he is performing around 26% and I think he is not doing well,” he stated.
Dr Assibey-Yeboah noted that while internal party elections can be unpredictable, the current trends point to a decline in support for Mr Agyapong, despite his strong grassroots appeal and vocal campaign style.
