Ghana’s Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has held a productive courtesy meeting with officials from Cenpower Generation Company Limited, one of the country’s leading independent power producers.
The discussions, which focused on recent developments in the power sector, were described by the Minister as “fruitful and constructive.”
During the engagement, Dr. Jinapor and the Cenpower team explored potential avenues for continued collaboration to support the government’s energy objectives under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.

The Minister highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in achieving a resilient and reliable power supply for Ghana.
“I shared Government’s vision of ensuring an enduring and reliable power supply for the country, while maintaining strict fiscal discipline and safeguarding the sustainability of the sector,” Dr. Jinapor said, according to a statement posted on his Facebook page on Thursday, February 19.
He stressed that maintaining financial sustainability alongside reliable energy provision remains a top priority for the Ministry.

The Minister indicated that such engagements are vital for aligning the operations of independent power producers with national energy goals.
“Cenpower plays a critical role in supplementing our national grid, and dialogue with key industry players allows us to coordinate efforts and innovate solutions for the sector,” he added in the same Facebook post.

Dr. Jinapor concluded by reaffirming his commitment to ongoing consultations with stakeholders across the power industry.
“I look forward to engagements with key industry stakeholders as we work collectively to strengthen Ghana’s energy future,” he said, underscoring the government’s focus on collaboration and long-term sector growth.
