Manchester City attacker Antoine Semenyo has won the February EA SPORTS Player of the Month award, capping an impressive first full month at the club after joining from AFC Bournemouth in January.
It is the first time Semenyo has won the award, having recorded three goals and one assist across five appearances in the Premier League in February, netting against Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham and Leeds United.
“This is a brilliant moment for me. To win the Premier League Player of the Month award so soon after joining City is something I’ll never forget,” Semenyo said on Man City's website after winning the award.
“My focus now is on continuing to improve and helping City to achieve the best possible results. We have so much to play for and I am really excited about this final period of the season.”
The Ghana international has made an immediate impact at his new club, impressing in numerous roles, including on both wings, as a forward and in midfield.
Semenyo is the first Man City player other than Erling Haaland to win the award since Raheem Sterling in December 2021. Haaland himself has won the award four times, most recently in September of this season.
Meanwhile, Semenyo becomes just the third Ghanaian to win the award, after Tony Yeboah (March and September 1995) for Leeds and Andre Ayew (August 2015) for Swansea City.
