The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that a heavy rainstorm that swept through parts of the Eastern Region on Saturday, March 14, 2026, has resulted in power outages in several communities.
In a statement issued on Sunday March 15, the power distribution company said the severe weather conditions affected sections of its electricity distribution network, leading to interruptions in power supply to some customers across the region.
According to ECG, technical teams and engineers have already been deployed to the affected areas and are working diligently to identify and repair the faults in order to restore electricity as soon as possible.
The company assured residents and businesses that efforts are underway to address the situation promptly and minimise the impact on customers.
"ECG wishes to assure all affected customers that our Engineers are working assiduously to repair the faults and restore power supply."

ECG stated that its engineers are working assiduously to fix the faults caused by the rainstorm and return power supply to normal.
ECG also advised customers who may be experiencing outages within their homes or premises to report the situation through the appropriate channels.
Customers have been encouraged to contact the ECG contact centre on 0302611611, visit the nearest ECG office, or reach out through the company’s official social media platforms using the handle @ECGghOfficial.
The electricity distributor further appealed to the public for patience and cooperation while repair works continue across the affected parts of the region.
“ECG regrets the inconvenience caused to the affected customers,” the statement added.
