A landmark celebration of youth leadership took place on March 31, 2026, as 336 exceptional young Ghanaians were recognised with Gold Awards at the 2025 Head of State Awards.
The honourees included 217 young women and 119 young men, alongside 15 individuals and seven institutions acknowledged for their outstanding service and dedication to their communities.

The ceremony, graced by President John Mahama, Chief Patron of the Scheme, revolved around this year’s theme: “Equip, Empower, Excel: Building Brighter Futures Through Opportunities.”

Since its establishment in 1967, the Head of State Awards Scheme, part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, has promoted discipline, patriotism, and volunteerism, preparing the next generation of Ghanaians to lead with purpose and positively impact their communities.

The event also saw the Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment join in celebrating the achievements of the young recipients, highlighting the importance of empowering youth as agents of national development.
