Home appliance and consumer electronics brand BRÜHM has honoured five former Ghana internationals during a dinner in Accra as part of its BRÜHM Honours Legends campaign.
The event, held at the Alisa Hotel in North Ridge, also formed part of the 40th anniversary celebrations of Somotex Ghana Limited, the company's distributor in Ghana. It brought together former footballers, government officials, sports administrators, corporate executives, business partners, media personalities, and invited guests.
The campaign recognised five players whose careers span different eras of Ghanaian football: Rev. Osei Kofi, Ibrahim Sunday, Mohammed Ahmed "Polo", Nii Odartey Lamptey and Daniel Quaye.

The organisers said the initiative sought to recognise the contribution of former footballers to Ghana's football history while using documentary storytelling and public engagement to preserve their stories for future generations.
Speaking at the event, Roshanak Taheri, Head of Marketing for BRÜHM Global, said the campaign was built around the stories behind Ghana's football achievements.
"Our campaign was never really about an ending. It was about remembering where something began."
She said the campaign focused on the people behind Ghana's football successes rather than the results themselves.

"We do not want our relationship with consumers to begin and end with an appliance sitting in someone's home. We want to build a brand that understands the people who live in those homes—what they celebrate, what they are proud of, what they remember, and what brings families together."
Taheri added that many of Ghana's memorable football moments had been experienced in homes and community viewing centres, where families and supporters gathered to watch matches together.
Welcoming guests, Shivesh Srivastava, General Manager and Business Head of Somotex Ghana Limited, said the programme reflected the company's desire to recognise individuals who had contributed to the country's sporting history.
"For forty years, Ghanaian families have welcomed BRÜHM into their homes. Today, we believe it is our responsibility to honour the people whose achievements helped create many of the memories made inside those homes. Great brands do more than sell products—they celebrate the communities they serve and the people who inspire them."

He said football continued to unite people across the country and described the campaign as part of the company's broader community engagement efforts.
Other speakers included Awurakua Antwi, Marketing Manager for BRÜHM Ghana and Somotex Ghana Limited; Veronica Commey, Deputy Director-General of the National Sports Authority; a representative of the Ministry of Sports and Recreation; and Dr. Joseph Obeng, former President of the Ghana Union of Traders' Associations (GUTA) and a member of the Governing Council of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM).
The programme also featured documentary screenings, cultural performances by the Ayital Cultural Agency, and a musical performance by Rama Black.

Delivering a goodwill message, Dr. Joseph Obeng called for greater recognition of individuals who have contributed to national development.
"As a nation, we should recognise people who are doing positive things."
He said recognising achievement could encourage others to contribute to national development and also commended Somotex Ghana Limited for its long-standing presence in the country.
The BRÜHM Honours Legends campaign formed part of Somotex Ghana Limited's 40th anniversary activities. According to the organisers, the initiative combined documentary storytelling, public engagement, and recognition of former footballers with the aim of preserving Ghana's football history.
