The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has appeared on the government’s Accountability Series to account for measures being implemented to strengthen Ghana’s internal security and improve public safety.

The engagement, held on Monday, August 24, provided the minister with an opportunity to outline the performance of institutions under the Interior Ministry and respond to issues concerning security, law enforcement, disaster management and the fight against illicit drugs.

The appearance comes as the government continues its broader accountability programme, which provides ministers with a platform to report on their stewardship, explain interventions and update the public on key developments within their respective sectors.

Mr Mohammed-Mubarak’s presentation placed particular emphasis on the government’s efforts to tackle emerging security threats and strengthen the capacity of security agencies.
