The Central Regional Minister has visited the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital to check on residents who sustained injuries during an attack in the New Winneba Township.
The Minister interacted with the victims and assessed their condition following the violent incident, which has heightened security concerns in parts of the area.
The attack occurred on Tuesday when a group, reportedly from Gomoa Oguakrom, Gomoa Yenkuadze and Gomoa Pomadze, allegedly attacked residents and vandalised shops and properties belonging to natives of the area.

The incident reportedly left several people injured, with some receiving treatment at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.
The violence reportedly left at least three people dead, while about 15 others, including a police officer, sustained injuries and were transported to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba for treatment.

Following the attack, personnel from the Winneba Divisional Headquarters and Agona Swedru District Patrols were deployed to contain the situation and restore calm.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, subsequently deployed a reinforcement team from the National Police Headquarters, including two armoured vehicles, to strengthen security in the area.
The Central Regional Minister’s visit is expected to provide an opportunity for the authorities to engage with the victims and assess the impact of the incident as efforts continue to restore peace and security in New Winneba.
