A local business magnate has stepped in to resolve critical administrative hurdles at the newly established Narpayilli Senior High School (SHS) in the Nanumba South District.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Abuya Group of Companies, Alhaji Amin Iddrisu Abuya, presented a suite of high-capacity office equipment to the school management.

The donated items included laptops, desktop office desks, printers, a photocopier, a risograph machine, and various administrative stationery items aimed at enhancing teaching and operational efficiency.

Critical administrative lifeline

Receiving the items on behalf of the regional and district education authorities, Mr Yakubu Suhununu, Assistant Director of the Nanumba South Ghana Education Office, lauded the timely nature of the intervention.

He noted that newly opened secondary schools often face severe resource constraints during their initial rollout.

According to Suhununu, the donation was particularly timely, given the importance of the equipment to the effective management of a school.

“The laptop, the printer, the photocopier, they are tools that every school needs, and I believe Abuya has done it at the right time,” he stated.

He highlighted that the gesture formed part of a consistent pattern of corporate social responsibility by the donor towards local human capital development.

“We want to encourage others to emulate the efforts of Mr Abuya and follow his footsteps so that, at the end of it, Narpayilli Senior High School will grow to where we want it to be,” he added.

Maintenance and longevity call

Addressing school authorities, Mr Suhununu issued a firm charge on asset maintenance.

He expressed concern over historical trends where state and donated educational infrastructure suffer rapid deterioration due to negligence.

He cautioned that equipment donated to schools sometimes deteriorates prematurely due to poor maintenance, stressing the need for the school authorities to safeguard the items.

“We want the head and his staff to take good care of the materials so that they can be used for their intended purpose,” Suhununu added.

Describing the contribution as a “booster” for the school, the Assistant Director assured that the machinery would streamline daily operations, exam printing, and administrative record-keeping for management and teaching staff. He formally conveyed the gratitude of the Ministry of Education and local authorities to the Abuya Group for stepping up during the institution's formative stages.
