Former Attorney General Martin Amidu is unconvinced Government is truly committed to retrieving the judgment debts illegally paid to Woyome and Waterville.
The citizen vigilante, as he calls himself, said months after he secured judgments from the Supreme Court asking Woyome, Waterville and Isofoton to pay back the monies they criminally received, Government failed to take action.
He told Citi FM Government made an attempt to retrieve the money only when the High Court acquitted and discharged Woyome.
The Supreme Court in June 2013 ruled in favour of Martin Amidu in a judgment debt case brought against businessman Alfred Woyome, Waterville Holdings and Isofoton.
The court described as illegal, monies paid to the entities and the individual, and ordered that Government retrieved the monies from them.
Almost two years after judgment was issued on the matter, Martin Amidu said he is unimpressed with the action being taken by Government to retrieve the monies.
"We went to court on the 4th of February. That application was adjourned sine die for us to issue notices. The notices were issued. I wasn't served. They went again on the 10 of February. The court adjourned for them to serve Waterville. That is 10th. They never served Waterville until Woyome's case broke out," he said.
He added the government in a desperate move, filed supplementary affidavits.
It is all to tell the public they are working. Me I am doubtful about all these things about collecting monies.
He said the Attorney General has been compromised and cannot be trusted to retrieve any money for the State.
But a member of the NDC legal team Abraham Amaliba said Government remains committed to retrieving the money.
He said given the discussions he has had with the Attorney General it is clear Marietta Brew Appiah Oppong is working tediously to get back the 51 million cedis wrongfully paid to Woyome.
