A group of National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth activists in the Volta Region have served a notice of their intention to demonstrate against some regional executives of the ruling party.
In a letter addressed to the Volta regional Police Command, copied to the Regional Minister, the group say the intended demonstration will be held on April 1, 2015.
Demonstrators would be hoping to press home their demand for accountability and show disapproval of threats on the lives of some party youth activists.
The group comprising past Executives of the Tertiary Educational Institutions Network(TEIN) of the National Democratic Congress are accusing three regional executives namely. the Chairman, Djapong Kudwo; the Regional Secretary, Simon Amegashie-Viglo; and the Regional Organizer, Henry Ametefe of pursuing their own interests at the expense of the general good of the party.
Organisers of the protests argue that whiles the party lacks resources, the three leaders are using their positions to amass wealth to the detriment of the party structures.
They are hoping to get the support of about 2,000 people on the streets to join in the protests against the way the party is being run by the current executives.
