Deputy Minister for local government and rural development, Nii Lante Vanderpuye has called for the involvement of school children in sanitation activities.
This he believes, will inculcate the culture of cleanliness in the future generation.
Mr. Vanderpuije made the call when he joined the people of Sandema in the Builsa North District of the Upper East Region to mark today's National sanitation day clean up exercise.
The Deputy Minister said he was impressed by the enthusiasm of children and young people in the exercise.
He is advocating the establishment of sanitation clubs in the various to encourage school children have regards for the environment.
In the Western Region the Lower Inachaban Traditional council has vowed to use force to get communities and residents of the area to partake in future clean up exercises.
Most residents went about their normal duties as Security personnel led by the DCE, MP and the Chief of the area, Nana Akosua Nfrase joined in the this Saturday morning’s clean up activities.
The Chief who expressed disappointment at the disinterest shown by the people, said the palace will have to consider applying force in the next exercise to get people to clean up their environment.
